Biography
McGruder, Anastacia M.Anastacia M. McGruder, 73 of Waverly, NY went home to be with her Lord on September 28th, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Anastacia was born October 18th 1935 in Endicott, NY to Michael Pastrikos and Ann Tzivanis. She had two brothers, George and Steve, and a sister Dian. Anastacia was married 45 years to her best friend and devoted husband Henry McGruder. Anastacia graduated high school from Union Endicott and later on completed beautician school at Delkader in Elmira, NY. Among her many accomplishments she was nominated for a point of light by President George Bush Sr. and received a Prison Fellowship volunteer of the year award. She was also employed as a beautician, author and housewife. Throughout her life she lived in Endicott, NY, England, Germany, and Waverly, NY. Anastacia was passionate about both growing and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Christian Life Church, an integral part of Prison Fellowship for over 20 years, a Lay-Chaplin at the Robert Packer Hospital, a Hospice Volunteer, and an Aids Taskforce Volunteer. By way of her ministry and service both in the local community and the prison system she was a mother-mentor to many. Anastacia was a distinguished cook leading to the publication of a cookbook and the creation of Noah’s Place eatery. Survived by Husband Henry McGruder of Waverly, NY; children Rosemary Lerche, Ronald (Cindy) Lerche of Waverly, NY. Grandchildren: Jonathan (Melissa) Lerche of Horseheads, NY, Joshua Lerche, Anna (Kenneth) Runyon, and Christopher Lerche all of Waverly, NY.Great-grandchildren Victoria Grimes, Brianna and Kendra Runyon, Nicholas Luciano (Lerche), Lauren and Nathan Lerche. She is especially remembered at this time by her great-grandchildren as nice (Lauren), special (Nathan), and generous (Nicholas). She is also survived by her Brother George (Barb) Pastrikos from Dansville, IL and Sister Dian Baccman of Sarasota, FL along with manyaunts,uncles,cousins, nephews,nieces and very special friends. Predeceased by Michael Pastrikos (Father), George Ingram (Step-Father), Ann Ingram (Mother), Steve Capousis (Brother) and Michael Lerche (Son).A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday October 3, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Christian Life Church 207 Broad St,Waverly NY.Funeral services to celebrate the life of Anastacia will be held following calling hours at 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Jonathan M.Lerche officiating. Burial will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Waverly NY.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a memorial fund at: Christian Life Church 207 Broad St. Waverly, NY. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Robert Packer Hospital,Tioga County health officials, and her many friends.
