Ron joined Blauvelt Funeral Home in 2015 as a Licensed Funeral Director, licensed in New York State and serving in the funeral industry for over 15 years. He purchased the funeral home in January of 2017 and looks forward to serving the valley community for years to come. He has training in all aspects of the funeral industry, specializing in pre-planning, pre-arrangement’s, and prefunding your funeral arrangements. He is also a certified funeral celebrant who takes pride in making each service as individual as the person its for. Ron enjoys doing pre-planning presentations for local groups and organizations. He has two grown children, Courtney and Jacob, and one magnificent granddaughter, Izabella. Born in Waverly at the old Tioga General Hospital, he has lived in the Southern Tier for most of his life. Ron got into the funeral industry by starting and operating a burial vault company in Elmira that led him to pursue getting his Funeral Director’s license. He attended and graduated from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY at the top of his class, graduating with the highest GPA of his graduating class, class president and president of Sigma Phi Sigma. He has worked for many of the funeral homes in the Waverly, Corning, Elmira and Owego area before returning home to the Valley.

Mr. Blauvelt, who was the owner of the Blauvelt Funeral Home is a licensed Funeral Director in New York State and the State of Pennsylvania with over 40 years experience in the funeral industry. He has training in all aspects of Funeral Service & specializes in Pre-Arrangement, Pre-Funding & Funeral Trust Accounts. Mr. Blauvelt has been married for over 38 years and has 3 grown sons and 7 adorable grandchildren. He was born in Waverly, New York, attended college in Syracuse, New York, worked for the Barrett Funeral Home in Elmira, New York, Smith & Fudge Funeral Home in Elmira, New York and Cumming Funeral Service in Watertown, New York before settling back to the valley area in March of 1976. Mr. Blauvelt is joined by an experienced staff of funeral assistants, retired clergy, grounds keepers and drivers just to mention a few. The employees help with a variety of tasks and are available to help with all arrangements that need to be made. Most of the staff have served Blauvelt Funeral Home for many years and have help to create the loving and caring family atmosphere that is so helpful during this very difficult time.
