Carolyn “Carol” Brogan, age 80, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her home following a long illness. She was born September 26, 1937 in Waverly, NY. Carol was the daughter of the late Myron Kimber and F. Olga (Baker) Lampman.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Waverly Senior High School. Carol continued her education and graduated from The Western Union School in 1955. Carol began her work career at Western Union. She later worked for Friedlander Law Firm in Waverly, NY. After moving to Rochester, NY in 1980 she continued her career as Office Manager and Executive Secretary for the Mental Health Demonstration Project, Monroe County MediCap Program and Community Coalition Long Term Care before retiring in 1997.
Carol was a member of Saint Kateri Parish in Rochester, NY. Carol was always willing to collect for the March of Dimes in her Rochester neighborhood. She enjoyed her children and beloved grandchildren and recently her first great-grandchild. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holidays with her late husband, Bob, and all of her family. Carol had many interests which included reading, bridge, scrapbooking, movies and travel. Most recently, Carol enjoyed the “Art of Coloring” which she fondly called “painting.” She found a great deal of joy “painting” pictures to frame and give as gifts to her many family members and friends.
Carol was the widow of Robert Brogan whom she married on October 25, 1975 in Waverly, NY. He passed away on December 24, 2016. Carol is survived by her sister Marilyn Courtright of Waverly, NY; she is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Gary Keene of South Waverly, NY; she is also survived by her children, Colleen Carmody Payne (Terry) of Rochester, NY, Sharon Carmody Mozzi (Bob) of Dalton, MA and John Carmody (Josephine) of Mahopac, NY; she is also survived by her five grandchildren, Joseph Mozzi (Lauren), Matthew Mozzi (Kelsey), Christian Carmody, Shane Carmody and Raymond Payne; she is also survived by her great-grandchild, Roman Mozzi; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY 14892. Committal will follow the Memorial service at Glenwood Cemetery in Waverly, New York at which time Carol and Bob will be laid to rest.
