Biography

Charles "Gus" Warner

Charles “Gus” G. Warner, 67 of Sayre, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He was predeceased by parents, Ralph and Winifred White Warner; brother, Ralph Warner; sisters, Rose Rockwell and Ethel Emmerson.

Gus is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Kay Wallace Warner; children, Lisa (Bryant) Frisbie of Sayre, Annette Nordin of Sayre, and Ralph (Renee) Warner of Sayre; sisters, Dixie (Irvin) Smith of Sayre, Margaret Keegan of Sayre; sister-in-law, Candy Warner of Sayre; grandchildren, Dakotah, Austin, Haley, Mackenzie, Lindsey, Nathan, Brooke, Lucas, Jenna, Leah, Gage and Gabe; great grandson, Jaxon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Gus as a proud lifetime member of the J.E. Wheelock #5 who enjoyed to gamble, play golf, watch sports, supervise BINGO, and go camping.  He enjoyed watching the Mets and the Eagles and most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.  Gus was a coach for Sayre Little League for 25 years and was the first recipient of the Little League District 15 Volunteer of the Year award.

A time of calling will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Waverly United Methodist Church, 158 Chemung Street, Waverly with Rev. Anne Bey Canfield officiating and burial to follow in Tioga Point Cemetery.
