Charles W. Millard, 87 of Fort Myers Florida, formerly of Elmira, New York passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 after a short period of declining health.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Josephine Millard of Milltown; brothers, Gordon and Richard; and partner of 62 years, Jim Lee.
Charles is survived by his sister-in-law, Gretchen Millard; nieces and nephews, Gene, Cindy, Jeff, Jerry, Coralee, Kathy, Lori, Sam, Rick, Randy and Penny.
He served on the USS Destroyer Stickwell while in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952, receiving an honorable discharge. He obtained his master’s degree while Syracuse University graduating in 1957 with a teaching degree. Charles retired from the Horseheads School District as a Guidance Counselor 25 years ago.
Charles enjoyed walking, riding bike and fishing.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA. The family is being assisted by Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad St., Waverly, NY.
