Biography

Constance J. Bennett

Constance J. “Connie” Bennett, 77 of Lowman passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, James and Mildred Sheesley Hunter; husband of 40 years, Gerald T. Bennett Sr,  her one and only love; and son, Gerald T. “Jerry” Bennett Jr.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Terri L. Bennett; sisters, Patricia (Fred) Dickinson, and Sandy (Archie) Price; grandchildren, Terra Malone Spero, Michael Malone, Dallas J. Tunnicliff, Melinda (Mindy) Bennett, and Tyler Bennett; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.

Connie worked for Elmira animal shelter and the Chemung Valley Veterinary Clinic.

She loved going to Fraleys Auction where her number was #1 and she made sure that number stayed hers.   She was always first to arrive there.  She met a lot of wonderful people at Fraleys.  She developed a very close bond to Gail and her auction husband, Jim, along with his wife, Dawn, Paula and so many more.  She was a farmer most of  her life.  She enjoyed spending time at Jerrys garage, made sure the fire was going and helped keep the garage organized.  She loved listening to Jerry and his friends stories.  Connie loved her animals and would go without to make sure her animals were taken care of.  She was so thankful for Hermie Springsteads help and support after her son passed.  She loved going on Jerrys Hill to help Jerry or watch him to make sure he was O.K.. They would sit on the hill and watch for deer or any animal life.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family.  The family is being assisted by Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY.  Those wishing to send a private message of sympathy to the family may visit our Facebook page or in “Obituaries” at www.blauveltfuneralhome.com.
