Constance K. Bryan, 76, of Athens PA, died at her family home on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.
She was born on June 15, 1943 in Waverly, NY to the late Dr. Wiley W. Congdon I, and Mary Covey Congdon. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bryan, and her brother, Wiley Jay Congdon.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Bryan, of Athens; her nephew, Wiley Congdon of Savannah GA; her niece, Mary Congdon of Sayre; her sister-in-law, Ellie Congdon of Sayre; her brother-in-law, Richard (Carol) Bryan of Louisville, KY; along with many other special family members and friends.
Connie graduated from Athens High School in 1961 and then attended Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA where she earned a bachelor’s degree in History. She was employed by the Waverly School District and taught primary grades at the Chemung Elementary School for her entire career of 36 years. She loved her students and coworkers and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Entertaining and cooking holiday meals were some of her favorite past times as well as searching for antiques, listening to music, and going to see harness races with the Covey cousins. She was a loving mother, aunt, friend and neighbor. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.
Friends and family may call from 12 – 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Blauvelt Funeral Home on 625 Broad St in Waverly, NY. Funeral will follow at 2 p.m. at the Blauvelt Funeral Home on 625 Broad St in Waverly, NY with the Pastor Helen Learn officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens.
