Biography

David G. Fleming

Pastor David G. Fleming, Sr., 79, of Chemung, NY went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2018.  He planted and pastored churches over 33 years from New York to Kentucky, including In His Presence Ministries in Elmira.  He was a lifelong dairy farmer, contractor, and former Cortland County Supervisor.

He was born March 12, 1939 to Mary Bridget Corr and James B. Fleming in Marathon, NY.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, James and Joseph; and sisters, Kathleen and Dorothy; grandson, Daniel; and parents-in-law, Robert and Margaret Corning. He is survived by brothers, Robert (Bridget) and Stephen (Joan); and sisters, Eileen (Robert) and Joan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy  “Dottie” Corning Fleming; and children David (Dana), Teresa Ringo, Kathleen (Ted), Eileen (James) Van Riper, Nancy (Keith) Wells, Joseph (Holly), Peter (Kayla), and Timothy (Rosa). Grandchildren, Brett (Megan), Bridget, Ethan, Eli, Alison (Daniel), Philip, Levi, Spencer, Michael, Nicholas, Keith, Jr., Katherine, Adalya, Liam, Magnolia, Elizabeth, and Julia.  Great-grandchildren Sean, Reagan, Lucy, Declan and Kody.
