Deborah Anne (Cain) Fletcher of Fairfax, VA, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2015, with her family at her side in the Hospice Care Center, Palm Harbor, FL
Debbie is survived by her parents Patricia and Walter Cain of Waverly NY; sister Joan Cain and partner Nancy Slater, of Charleston, SC; nephew Joshua Cain Hamlet of Brooklyn, NY; uncle John Gagen and wife Barbara, of Bonsall, CA; aunt Barbara Brown of Statham, NH; aunt Betty Gagen of Walton, NY; and, 19 cousins
Debbie was born in Southold, NY on October 13, 1959 where she resided until college. Upon graduating from Southold High School in 1977, she attended Clarkson University, NY as an Engineering Major and later received a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oneonta, NY, majoring in Mathematics.
Debbie set off for California, living with her Uncle Jack and family while working in an actuary firm. Soon she moved to Long Beach, CA and joined Northrup as a radar specialist during their development of the B -2 Stealth Bomber. There she met and wed, James Fletcher. Following the completion of the B-2 Bomber, they moved to Columbia, MD and Westinghouse Corporation in positions similar to what they held at Northrup.
Deborah continued her education and attained her CPA from the University of Maryland and joined KPMG in the Federal Consulting Division. This division then incorporated as Bearing Point and was subsequently acquired by the international firm, Deloitte & Touche LLP. Debbie rose to Principal Partner with Deloitte, from which she recently retired.
Celebrations of her life will be held at Hilton Garden Inn, Falls Church, VA, on June 1, 6-9 P.M.; and, Waverly, NY, Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad St., Waverly, June 8, 4:30 – 6:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to:

Debbie will be deeply and lovingly missed by her family, friends and many Deloitte associates whom she held very dear.
