Franklin D. Robbins, 85, of Waverly, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles S. and Mildred Depew Robbins; his wife, Roberta Robbins; daughter, Greta Pine; brothers, William, Charles (Art), Louis and Norman Robbins; sisters, Louise Ennis and Ida Shipman;
Frank is survived by his children, Gina (Steve) Wright of Sayre, Franklin G. (Cindy) Robbins of Waverly and Brian “Sam” (Marlene) Robbins of Harrisburg, PA; sisters, Shirley Howard of VA, Charlotte Petty of Rome and Patricia (Wade) Phelan of Endicott; grandchildren, Chad (Debbie) Pine of ME, Sue (Ricky) Sinsabaugh of Ulster, Thomas Wright of Sayre, Abby (Kristy) Robbins-Barrows of Endicott, Luke (Amy) Robbins of Corning, Joel Robbins (US Navy, USS Chancellorsville), Timothy Robbins, Madeleine Robbins, Peter Robbins (US Navy USS Constitution), Dean Robbins and Eric Robbins; several great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Frank retired from IBM in Owego as a manager after over 34 years. He was a fixer, a man who found it a challenge to fix things and enjoyed doing it for everyone. He enjoyed playing on his computer, organizing things and following the market. He loved to share his knowledge with others. Being from a large family, his love for fixing, repairing and problem solving came about as a necessity, but became what he was about.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens. The family is being assisted by Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad St., Waverly, NY.
