Biography

Gerald "Jerry" G. Wells

Gerald “Jerry” G. Wells, 73, of Waverly passed away on Friday April 6, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburg Pennsylvania following a short illness.

He was born on October 3, 1944 in Sayre PA the son of the late Leonard and Lydia Carmer Wells.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard Jr and Clinton Wells; sisters, Harriett Vosburg and Louise Champion; and grandson, Douglas Michael Wells.

Gerald is survived by his children, Denise (Todd) Carpenter, Mark Wells, Marlene (Greg Bodner) Kerwan, Sharlene (David) Clark, Jerry (Stephanie) Wells and Patty Avery; grandchildren, Brian (Sarah) Clark, Derek Wells, Tyler Carpenter, Danielle (Carpenter) Sutton, Izaak and Zeth Whalen; one very special great-granddaughter, Mina Rae Clark the light of his life; sister, Eleanor Vrooman; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend Velda Guiles; and Charlie Pond who was like a brother.

Jerry worked at Stroemann Bakery in Sayre, PA for 44 years.  He was an avid Yankee, Giant and NASCAR fan who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

A time of calling will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 11 to 1 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 1 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly with Rev.
