Gordon R. Millard, 82 of Nichols and formerly of Orange Hill, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles I. and Josephine Millard; and brother, Richard Millard.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gretchen Millard; children, Gene Millard of Sayre, Cindy (Carman) Millard-Alamo of Waverly, Jeff (Kari) Millard of Fort Mills, SC, Jerry Millard of Michigan City, IN, Coralee (Dave) Eskew of Lockwood, Kathy (Bill) Wilson of Waverly, Lori Millard of Nichols, and Sam (Amy) Millard of Sayre; brother, Charles Millard of Fort Myers, FL; 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He attended Sayre High School and was a life-time member of the JE Wheelock Hose Co., in Milltown, Life-time member of the Elks and a member of the Moose. Gordon loved his horses and was the last living member of the Herbert S. Maddy Corral and enjoyed spending time with his family. In his younger years he umpired little league baseball in Florida. Gordon was a truck driver for 17 years at Eastern Freightways and worked for Lake Erie Transportation and Simonds Excavating.
A time of calling will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 4 to 6 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11 AM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly with Rev. Mary Jean Simonin officiating and burial to follow in Tioga Point Cemetery, Athens, PA.
