Harlan J. Lewellyn passed away on June 5, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA after a brief illness. He was born September 21, 1941 in Hanover, N.H. He graduated from high school in Windsor Vermont in 1959. He studied horticulture at the University of New Hampshire in Durham and spent many years landscaping in Hanover, N.H. He married Jill L. Morrison on March 20, 1965. They resided in Plainfield, N.H. In 1972 they moved to Bennington, Vermont with their daughter, Kimberly. He was a long-time volunteer member of the Stark Hose Co. of the Bennington Fire Dept., before moving to Bradford County Pennsylvania in 1991. He was also a 41 year member of The Bennington B.P.O. Elks Lodge # 567, where he was the Exalted Ruler in 1987-88. Harlan spent his life working outdoors. He and his family travelled across the United States and Canada to the west coast. They also spent many years vacationing in Maine as Harlan loved to fish. In his retirement years he enjoyed picking huckleberries with the rattlesnakes on Barclay Mountain. His friends at Colonial Terrace will miss his gardening expertise and willingness to play cards or bingo. He especially appreciated his granddaughter's visits and her drawings of horses over the years.
Harlan was predeceased by his mother, Blanche Ladeau, and step-father, Warren Lewellyn and father, Elmer Earl (Pete) Lewellyn, who was killed in action in Korea on Jan.13, 1951. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jill Lewellyn, of 125 Colonial Terrace Towanda, PA 18848. His daughter, Kimberly lives in New Albany, PA with her husband, Kent Corson and their daughter, Hannah. Harlan has six brothers and sisters still living: Joanne (Jack) Salls of Williamstown, VT, Sharon (Mack) Baxter of Wayland, N.Y., Albert (Linda) Lewellyn of White River Junction, VT, Everett Lewellyn of Wyalusing, PA, Jeff (Marty) Lewellyn of Claremont, N.H. and Sheldon Lewellyn of Wyalusing, PA and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private burial service at their convenience in Bennington, Vermont.
