Biography

James Joseph Dunfee

James Joseph Dunfee, 80, of Sayre passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at home with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents, James Kenneth Dunfee and Katherine Toole Dunfee; wife, Nancy Suzanne Regg Dunfee; and brother, Michael Dunfee.

James is survived by his children, Colleen (Alex) Dunfee Dunne, James Michael (Dannette) Dunfee; grandsons, Nicolas Dunfee, and Danny (Katie) Scroggins; granddaughters,  Wendy Michelle Cooper, and Ashely Marie (Damien) Wandall; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Thomas (Lorraine) Dunfee and John Mark Dunfee.

James graduated from Sayre High School in 1954 and attended Ithaca College  for Physical Therapy.  He proudly went into the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Corporal and received a Good Conduct Medal.  He worked for 42 years at Lehigh Valley Railroad as a Yardmaster and then later became the safety specialist of the Albany division until his retirement in 1999.  He was an avid Notre Dame fan who loved to play golf.

At time of calling will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4 to 6 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly with Rev.
