Jeremy "Jer" Stotler, 37, of Waverly, New York, passed away on January 1, 2016, unexpectedly following a brief illness.
He was born on December 28, 1978, in Sayre, Pa., the son of Gary and Donna-Marie R. Dixson Stotler.
Jer attended Waverly High School. He was a member of the Tioga County 4H program and raised a Reserve Champion steer. He was employed in the roofing and siding industry with Southern Tier Insulation, Sutryk and Son, S&J Construction, and had his own business, Precision Roofing, for a number of years. He had an excellent reputation for quality work in roofing and took great pride in his work, working long hours to complete jobs to his and his customers' satisfaction.
His pride and joy were his children, and he thoroughly enjoyed caring for them and engaging in various family activities, fishing,bow hunting, swimming, riding 4-wheelers, building with Legos, cooking for daily meals and cookouts, trips to Florida, Virginia, Darien Lake, NASCAR races, and Chuck-E-Cheese.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Edgar "Max" Dixson; paternal grandparents Richard and Mary Stotler; uncle Raymond Dunlap; niece and nephew, Lily and Brian Stotler; and nephew Ricky Timbrook.
Jer is survived by his children, Carissa Stotler of Chemung New York; MacKenzie Yale of Waverly, New York; and Maddox and Olivia Stotler, at home; his mother, Donna-Marie Stotler; brother Gregory Stotler; grandmother Ruth Dixson; significant other Lisa Wysocki Shedden and her son Blake; special aunt Bonnie Dixson; uncles and aunts Richard and Zella Dixson, all of Waverly, New York; Roger Dixson of Melbourne, Florida; Della Dunlap, Ronald and Lucille Bowers, Richard and Kitty Timbrook, all of Virginia; special friends Barb and Joseph "Curley" Wysocki; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jer was a very caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone and never asking for anything in return. He was blessed with many special friends. He is sorely missed by his family and many, many friends and acquaintances.
Friends and family may call from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at the Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Anne Bey Canfield officiating.
