John A. Jackson

John Arthur Jackson, 63, of Sayre passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 18, 2019.

He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Jackson, Jr.; and his sister, Sandra Kay (Jackson) Mann.

John is survived by his mother, Onalee L. Jackson of Sayre, PA.; aunts, Sylvia Grippin of Waverly, NY,  Gretchen Millard of Waverly, NY and Mary Warren of Ulster, PA.; brother-in-Law, Willard Mann of Wellsburg, NY; nephew, William Mann of Dover, OH; niece, Michelle (William) Paris of Sayre, PA.; great niece, Courtney Paris; great nephews, Brandon Paris and Jackson Mann; and several cousins.

Born in Sayre, PA to Onalee L. (Ward) Jackson and the late Arthur Jackson, Jr..  John grew up in Waverly, NY and graduated from Waverly High School in 1974.  John enjoyed a long employment history with Ingersoll Rand in Athens, PA. and Elmira Coca-Cola Bottling Company. John loved spending time with his friends and family over the years.  He very much enjoyed getting together with his cousins to catch up.  John was especially fond of the times that he was laughing and joking with his sister Sandy or sharing his thoughts and ideas with his nephew Bill.  He dedicated his life to taking care of his mother, Onalee, helping to provide for her until the day of his passing.

A memorial gathering in John’s honor is in the planning stages with details to follow.   The family is being assisted by Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad St., Waverly, NY.   Those wishing to send a message of sympathy may visit our Facebook page or in “Obituaries” at
