John (Jack) P. McKeown passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21st, 2018.
Jack grew up in New York City, the son of William and Isabell, and the oldest brother to Peter (predeceased) and William McKeown.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War.
After returning home from Korea he married his first wife Helen Curley (predeceased) and joined the New York State Police, stationed in Plattsburg NY. After a short career he found his true passion in construction, which brought him to the valley. Jack was employed by Dalrymple Construction as the batch plant supervisor, supplying the concrete to what was then Route 17.
In 1978 Jack moved to Tampa Florida, where he made many friends and met his life partner Janice Wolfe. During these years he traveled around the world to many exotic locations as a premier concrete plant operator. His discipline and patriotism he learned in the Marines never left him, as friends and family will attest.
Jack is survived by his four children William McKeown, wife Debra, Susan Havens, Nancy Raymond, husband Stu and Alicia Lemieux, and husband Robert. He was a proud grandfather of seven grand children and four great grand children.
Jack requested no services.
