Kenneth Shipman, 88, of Waverly passed away on Monday, March 25, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Lillian Barden Shipman; brother, Clyde Shipman; and son-in-law, Robert Delp.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Shipman; children, Kenneth (Denise) Shipman of Waverly, Wayne (Barb) Shipman of Waverly, Cindy (Leon) Stevens of Waverly, Beverly (Myron) Randall of Barton, Keith (Misty) Shipman of Waverly and Leo (April) Shipman of Waverly; sisters, Dorothy Ellison of Lockwood and Grace Meisner of Waverly; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kenneth loved going to Bluegrass Festivals, playing his fiddle and listening to Bluegrass Music. Kenneth and Ruth enjoyed going for rides on their side by side. He loved camping, deer hunting, watching NASCAR races, sitting by the campfire and farming. Kenneth loved spending time with his family and friends. He retired from the Town of Barton.
A time of calling will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 10 to 12 at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY with Rev. Alan Bill officiating and burial to follow in Barton Center Cemetery.
