Maynard “Ken” J. King, 88, of Lockwood, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Elderwood Care in Waverly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Rose Vermette King; and his wife, Patricia King.
Maynard is survived by his sons, Tom (Nellie) King of Lockwood and David King of Washington State; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jessica) King of Glen Mills, PA, Stephanie (Lars) Christensen of Batavia, NY, Scott (Rachel) King of Webster, NY, Jeffery King of Washington State; and six great grandchildren.
Maynard proudly served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. During his career he worked at O’Connor Moshier in Solvay, NY, Dewitt Wholesale Grocery in Dewitt, NY, the Health Center in Syracuse, NY and he owned the Country Wood Shop in Warners, NY.
He enjoyed making fine furniture and woodworking using wood lathes for turning lamps and such. He also enjoyed wood fires, music and playing cards.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family is being assisted by the Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. So sorry for your loss. I worked with Ken at both Connor Mosher and Dewitt Wholesale, yes he was a special man, and I am sure be missed, the last time I saw him was at Pats funeral at Bagozies funeral home in Solvay. Stay strong
