She was a graduate of Sayre High School, Class of ’44.
Virginia was an active member of North Waverly Chapel where she taught Sunday school and enjoyed her Wednesday morning prayer meetings. Virginia had a love of life and would help anyone in need. She was the neighborhood Mom on Hoover Street. She ran Cooke’s ceramics in Waverly for many years where she developed many lasting friendships. She enjoyed attending Senior Citizens and participating in their activities and luncheons. She was a volunteer at the Robert Packer Hospital where the “girls in the work room” loved her singing and sense of humor. She volunteered right up to her illness just before Christmas. She enjoyed the past 6 years living with her son Michael and daughter in law Terri where she had her window to watch the birds and squirrels. She would go to Scott and Pegs and watch the deer and turkeys. She loved running the roads with her friends and was always ready to go. In her later years you could find her reading and doing her word search puzzles.
She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and spent time with her.
