Norma Jean Collins

Norma Jean Collins, 77, of Waverly passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Elderwood Care of Waverly.  She was predeceased by her parents, Carlton and Charlena Rose Van Skiver; and significant other, Jack Morgan.  Norma is survived by her children, Alan Collins of Owego, Mike Collins of Owego, Fred (Chris) Collins of Owego, and Patricia (Chad) Collins-Brown of TN; brothers, Roland (Liz) Van Skiver of Erin, and Gary (Cathy) Van Skiver of WV; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  Norma loved to knit/crochet and garden.  In her younger years she enjoyed going to the horse races and loved driving the school bus and all the kids adored her.  She traveled to England with her youngest son and daughter-in-law to help care for her grandchildren while they worked, and experienced old world culture first hand.  She enjoyed hosting Holiday Parties for the family and thoroughly enjoyed her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.  She loved history and anything to do with the Civil War and traveled to visit important places in history.  She loved to bake and cook and participated in bake sales with her granddaughter’s and great granddaughter, and had fun processing grapes with her family at her son’s winery.  She enjoyed Country Music and enjoyed NASCAR on Sunday’s.  She was an adoring mother and grandmother.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly with Rev.
