Rita M. Bannick Barrett, 86, of Waverly. She was the daughter of Eva Murray and Andrew Bannick who died on Monday, December 25, 2017 at Robert Packer Hospital after a short illness.
She was predeceased by her husband Anthony Wayne Barrett; parents, Eva and Andrew Bannick; son, David Barrett; step-father, John Horniak; step-brother, John A. and Shirley Horniak; brother-in-law, Donald and Pat Barrett; sisters; Jean and Walt Smith, Helena and Hank Cochi, Pauline and Glenn Munn, Vera and Jake Corby, Pat and John Harkness, and Mildred Rhodes.
Rita is survived by her children, Tony and Doris Barrett of AZ, Theresa Millard of FL, Janice and Tom Millage of Barton, Kathy and Ron Decker of Elmira, Jim and Cindy Barrett of Waverly, Chris Barrett of Lockwood, Beth and Chuck Daniels of FL and Ann and Chris Robertson of Barton; special friend, Joyce Robinson of Waverly; along with 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Rita enjoyed reading, playing cards, bingo, her lottery tickets, playing scrabble, and cooking. She worked at R&L Taxi and News in Waverly for over 10 years. Rita and Wayne enjoyed their time wintering in Florida and volunteering at the senior center.

A time of calling will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY with Rev. Teodor B. Czabala officiating and burial to follow in St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery in Towanda, PA. Memorial donations may be made in Rita’s name to Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
