Robert (Bob) Fiske, Age 81 of Athens, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Danville, Pennsylvania, with his family by his side.
Robert was born on August 26, 1934 to Alpheus (Fred) Fiske and Doris Steinmetz. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Edna Fiske; children, Sherry (Patrick) Murphy, Bobby (Debbie) Fiske, Sandra Dunfee(Timothy VanDyke), Penny (William) Singer, Steve (Kathy) Fiske, Judy (Gene) Rockwell, Grandchildren; Jaime Murphy-King, Mark Murphy, Fawne Fiske, Bobbie Fiske, Dillion Fiske, McKenzie Fiske, Sarah Fiske, Zack Dunfee, Timothy VanDyke, Eric Burlingame, Chadd Burlingame , Lynsey O’Connor, Jennifer O’ Herron, Shaylee Fiske, Derek Rockwell, Darin Rockwell; Brother, Charlie Fiske; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a faithful companion, Buddy.
Robert was the former Chief of Police of South Waverly and worked many years at Ingersoll-Rand. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. He loved to hunt and fish, camp and boat. He was known as a real dare devil at the Burro Enduro races, and was a member of the 1949-50 undefeated Waverly football team. You could always find Robert on the sidelines of grandchildren’s events supporting them all the way. He was an avid collector of junk, always tinkering with something to come up with a more “convenient” way to accomplish a task. Bob truly was “one in a million” and will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
A time of gathering with family and friends will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, New York. The celebration of Bob’s life will follow the visitation with his family and friends honoring his memory at 1:00 P.M. A special tribute to Bob’s life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one’s favorite charity.
