Stanley F. Searles, 69, of Waverly passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at home.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fay and Doris Lent Searles; grandparents, Floyd and Jenny Searles, Ferris and Emma Carlin, grandfather, Lenon Lent; sister, Bonnie Ward; and baby sister Searles.
Stan is survived by his wife, Marge Searles of Waverly; children, Cynamin Morris of Waverly, Jennifer Perry of Waverly, Christina (Tom) Hiralez, Raymond Searles, Greg (Brandy) Rudock of Waverly, William (Nikki) Goodenow of NC, Jolene Goodenow of Litchfield, Heather Goodenow and Jessica Rae Sowel of SC; brothers, Wayne (Priscilla) Searles of Waverly and Alan F. Searles of Waverly; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Stan graduated from Waverly High School in 1967 and went on to work for many companies in the valley including Quinlan Tree Service and Laprino Foods. He moved to the Bahamas and worked for Bahamas Foods for 12 years. While living in the Bahamas he met and married his wife, Marge. He enjoyed hanging out at the Sand Bar in the Bahamas. He enjoyed Rambler Cars and he built horse haulers out of buses. He enjoyed taking the kids to horse shows. He loved animals and brought two dogs back from the Bahamas with him when he moved home. He also enjoyed kayaking and enjoying a cold one.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Lourde’s Hospice and Billie Goodenow for their support.
A time of calling will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly. Memorial donations may be made in Stan’s name to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
