To Chuck, Ben , Bridget and family Even though we were prepared we are never ready to let go. I am so sad and sorry to hear of the of Susan on earth. Thankfully, she is in a peaceful place above with the rest of our family and looking down upon us. Susan pierced my ears for my sixth grade graduation, the old fashioned way. We really enjoyed our alone time recently sitting on her porch and talking of memories. It was a beautiful day.Susan has always been a wonderful person and cousin. Miss her much. Rest In Peace

There are no words to do justice to a woman like my first grade teacher and grade school best friend (Ben)’s mom. Susan was the kind of fun, kind and smart woman you actually wanted to hang out with when all of us visited before going out of had a sleepover or small party. We would always be late going places because everyone wanted to talk to Ben’s mom. From her Pilgram outfits for school Thanksgiving to admiring her Christmas ornaments & catching up with her in the family room during winter holidays, to just her good advice. If anything had happened to my parents I would have wanted to be adopted by Susan & Chuck. She was simply the best, a class act, and so strong with her struggles from polio to cancer. She will always be remembered and loved!

I am truly heartbroken. Mrs. Halton was the sweetest lady and truly did have a way of making each student feel so special. She was such an inspiration to me and I will forever be grateful that I was one of her students and later a frequent visitor to the house as Ben's friend. I will always remember her good hugs that had so much love in them and singing "Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes" with her even well into our 20's. There will always be a special place in my heart for Mrs. Halton. Her passing is such a great loss to the world. She will be missed dearly.

Dearest Chuck: May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. I will never forget the kindnesses that Sue showed me so many years ago! She was such a giving, loving friend to me as we started our teaching careers together in Waverly! May her name be spoken softly by the scores of children whose lives were made happier because she lived. Today and always, may loving memories bring you peace, comfort, and strength. Chuck I'm so sorry to hear of Susan's passing. Susan and I shared many fun times when we were both students at Keuka College. Living in neighboring hometowns we were able to continue adventures during summers and college breaks. Her infectious smile, laugh and sparkling eyes lit up a room. After college we went on our own paths but got to see you both at her 50th Keuka College class reunion . She had not changed one bit- fun living, warm, gracious with her incredible smile.
Tears are the expression of a love too deep for words.
You and family are in my prayers. May God hold you all tightly in His loving arms granting you comfort and peace.

Dearest Chucky and family, We have known each other since we were children. My Mom and Dad, Sam and Sally Staver adored Chuck and were so happy and proud that he created a beautiful family with Susie. Although we have not seen each other many times over these years we know how far Susie's grace, love and compassion reached. It is times like these when we can't be together for comfort we acknowledge the tender loss of your cherished loved one on paper. We know the memory of Susie's laughter and love will always be a blessing. with our love, Maya and Terry, Doreen, Robby and the Staver family

Where does all of that energy go when such powerful and dynamic person leaves this earth? I did not know Mrs. Dalton on a deeply personal level but when ever you were in her presence you felt she knew you for years. What a class act. I am so glad that I had the moments to experience her sparkle and charm. She will continue to live on in her family and the memories of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Susan was on the same floor freshman year, in Ball Hall, at Keuka College. I didn't know her well, but I distinctly remember her ever present sweet smile and positive attitude. No doubt her lucky students over 37 years benefitted from her radiance.

I am devastated to hear of Susan's passing. My children were all lucky enough to have her for a teacher in Litchfield and we all loved her dearly. She always asked about the kids when we would see each other and I would always extend her regards to them. They were always sad they had missed seeing her and would tell me how much they loved her in school. The world will not be the same without her in it. She will be greatly missed.
