Biography

Vander Norman Moon

Vander (Tom) Moon left us to share eternal life with the Lord on May 29, 2015.

Vander was born in Johnson City, N.Y. on Oct. 1, 1939 to Thomas and Geraldine Moon of New Albany. He married Sandra Jo Harvey in Appalachian, N.Y. on Oct. 8, 1960. They were blessed with 48 yrs. of marriage.

Vander had a variety of occupations: EJ Shoe Company, landscaping, farming, he retired from International Paper (Masonite) after 25 yrs. He enjoyed his family, baseball (NY Mets), hunting, farming and his garden.

Vander is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Geraldine Moon New Albany, wife Sandra Jo Moon.

Vander is survived by his children: son John Darrah (KC Ward) of Barton N.Y. grandchildren: Teresa, Erica, Becky, Jamie, Misty, John II, Dustin, Dylan, Danelle, Dallas, Johanna; son Thomas Moon of Litchfield P.A. grandson: Thomas (Tucker) & great grandsons Cameron, Thomas, Blake; son Gerald (Tina) Moon of Phoenix A.Z. granddaughters: Tabatha & Lydia; daughter Doris (Robert) Krulikowski of Endicott N.Y. grandson Cory. His brother Bernard (Linda), sisters: Bernice, Barbara (Stu), Bonnie. Companion: Ruth Franklin.

A time of gathering with family and friends will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 5, 2015, at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. The celebration of Vander’s life will follow the visitation with the Pastor Larry Day honoring his memory at 11:00A.M. A special tribute to Vander’s life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one’s favorite charity.
