Viola B. Blauvelt, 84, of Elmira passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 with her family by her side at Elderwood Care at Waverly.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Dorothy McDuffie Britt; and her sisters, Audrey and Carol.
Viola is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Lyle Blauvelt of Elmira; children, John Flad of Hornell, Dorothy Crane of Williamsport, PA, Brian (Marlene) Blauvelt of Corning, Michelle Smart of GA and Bernice Ann Henry of Greenslanding, PA; 14 grandchildren; and 35 great grandchildren.
Viola co-operated Blauvelt Sharpening Service with her husband Lyle for 50 years. She loved camping, shopping, crocheting, canning, cooking, butterfly’s, tending to her flowers and most of all spending time with her family. She was a girl scout in her early years and was a Sunday School teacher who enjoyed the children and a PTA member. She enjoyed customer service which let to selling Amway, Cambridge Home Products and Stanley Home Products.
A time of calling will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 11 to 12 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. Funeral services will he held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly with Pastor Jon Austin and burial will be at the convenience of the family at Fitzsimmons Cemetery in Elmira.
